I’m baaaack!! Blowing the dust off of the pod with a new episode 🧹

Hi there Reader,

Tap tap … is this thing on?

So, it’s been awhile!

I hope you had a joyous and meaningful holiday season and are off to a good start in 2025.

I absolutely meant to produce more episodes. I promise.

But November and December kicked my butt … in a good way.

  • I worked on LOTS of interesting writing projects for clients.
  • I celebrated my 42nd birthday with friends.
  • I participated in the ground breaking of 2 new local libraries! (I volunteer as a Trustee for my county’s library system and have been working on a project to bring one of the libraries to my neighborhood since 2020.)
  • My family went on a one-week cruise to Mexico and Honduras. This was very special for our kids because my great-grandparents were from Mexico, and my husband was born in Honduras.
  • I shuttled the kids to ALL of the end-of-semester holiday concerts, field trips, and spirit week events.
  • We celebrated my husband’s graduation from his Master’s program.
  • I wrapped up a 9-month volunteer project at my children’s school – an amateur radio contact with Astronaut Sunita Williams, who is currently aboard the International Space Station.
  • We flew to Washington, DC to witness my brother-in-law’s U.S. Air Force promotion to Lieutenant Colonel in front of the U.S. Constitution inside the National Archives.
  • We visited with LOTS of friends and family and ate way too much on Thanksgiving, Noche Buena, and Christmas.
  • I worked with my business attorney to get Talk Freelance To Me® trademarked by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
  • And our family got over being sick about three times with various bugs, ailments, and injuries.

So, after a holiday hiatus, I’m BACK with a very special episode with my pal, Mara Shorr!

Mara is a powerhouse business consultant, international speaker, and advocate who’s transformed her passion for communication into a thriving career helping businesses grow.

In this episode, we chatted about A LOT —how to scale a freelance or solopreneur business, the tools that save time and sanity, and why building systems is the key to success.

Toward the end of the episode, Mara also opens up about her advocacy work … she has fostered 35 dogs (yes, 35!) and became a guardian ad litem AND a foster parent.

You’re going to love Mara!
